Even though I play, I don't know how to teach. I tried a few times with Ethan. He wasn't interested and I didn't know how to make him interested. And as a mom, I need to pick my battles. That wasn't one I was interested in fighting at the moment.
At this point Ashley is the only one self-motivated enough to listen to my pathetic attempt at piano lessons, and then practice until she has each song memorized. She's getting better every day, and it's fun to have someone else play the piano during our Family Home Evenings for a change. There's always music in our house now, and I love it!
Ahhh, Ashley is such a dreamy child. I wish my girls were more like Ashley. :) Can I send all my kids to you and Chris? because you seem to be doing something right. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd on the music note - Ashley and Emma should play something together next time we meet up. Emma has a piano class at her school. And I love when she practices at home.
Haha, we'll take your girls anytime :) But you don't get to see our dreamy ashley climbing out of bed every night, over and over, for hours, telling us she can't sleep. And then us getting less and less patient with her. Every night... maybe I'll post a picture of that one of these days!
