But here are the pictures from our Saturday festivities. Our village hosts an annual Easter egg hunt, even though I'm pretty sure most people here don't really know what Easter is.
We didn't bring any Easter baskets with us when we moved to The Swamp because we didn't know how much storage we'd have here. So my
The eggs were hidden everywhere. In tall trees, on top of bushes, in every nook and cranny of the playground. The kids had fun trying to find all of them. And of course, the traditional creepy bunny came and we got a picture with him. Then pizza was served. The kids were excited to have their own can of soda. We pretty much never drink the stuff, so it made for a special day. Although, Ashley took a few sips and decided it was gross.
The best part of the day for me was watching my kids give their eggs away to kids who showed up late or didn't get as many as they did. Such sweet hearts.
The kids like to make their own Easter "baskets" and Ashley did a pretty creative one this year, gluing paper scraps onto a balloon. The boys weren't into it, and just used cut up paper plates with a little something scrawled on them (and we didn't get a picture). Here's Ashley's basket. (Too bad we didn't get a picture of it filled with grass and eggs. But it was kind of tipsy, having a round bottom and all...)
